Structural Pallet Rack
Structural pallet racking offers even more durability and stability than standard selective pallet racking. Structural racking is made with high C-channel structural steel and used with upgraded accessories, including coil cradles and post protectors.
High durability option
Our installation professionals recommend structural racking in locations where heavier loads and physical impacts are routine.
With selective structural racking, you’ll get the benefit of:
- Longer service life
- Impact resistance
- Ability to hold heavier loads for longer amounts of time
- Increased warehouse staff safety
Industry professionals consider structural racking to be good for Good to use in “seismic” locations; or where earthquakes or vibrations are common.
We sell selective structural racking at Dakota Storage Products from two high-quality brands: MECO and Ridg-U-Rak. They provide some of the best selective racking in the industry, and they are the brands we trust and install for our customers.
A Note on Structural vs. Rolled
A common question we get is “If structural racking is so much stronger and more durable than rolled racking, why not use it in every application?”. The answer lies in usage: roll-formed racking does have other advantages. It’s easier to standardize in a warehouse. It’s cheaper than purchasing structural. Plus, even though it’s technically less durable than structural, it’s still perfectly fine for many applications. The best thing to do is consult a pallet racking expert for your use case to see which type of racking is best.
Components
Connections
There are two types of connections for structural racking: bolted and slotted. This comes down to the brand you select. MECO utilizes bolted connections, while Ridg-U-Rak offers both slotted and bolted.
Bolted systems are the strongest and most ridged, while slotted are a bit easier to install and reconfigure.
